The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is arguably the world’s biggest tech showcase of the year. For the first time ever, the 2021 edition will be conducted as a virtual event due to the pandemic.
While the participants may miss the physical extravagance of the annual event usually held in Las Vegas, the virtual event will allow countless more to be a part of its gala.
The 4-day event kicked off live today, for viewers all around the world. The event features some of the most innovative companies, heard and unheard, who are looking forward to connecting and showcase their latest in robotics, smart devices, digital health and a lot more.
Gary Shapiro, president and chief executive of the group, said the first all-digital show would be “showcasing the latest trends and innovation in artificial intelligence, 5G, digital health, smart cities, vehicle tech and beyond.”
The event managers will be using artificial intelligence to match interests indicated in attendee profiles with exhibitors, hoping to put a software spin on the serendipity of stumbling upon cool products on show-floors.
There are some 1,800 exhibitors who will be participating in this year’s show including several Indian companies who are pushing the envelope of future technology.
Ather, an upcoming electric scooter company is on the cusp of a revolutionary time in history where people are keen on switching to alternative modes of transport. With its future-centric ideas that’s rooted in contemporary requirements, Ather’s ‘intelligent vehicles’ is all set to revolutionize the commute experience in the future.
Another company is Ultrahuman, a fitness platform that helps people meditate, workout efficiently, and optimize their sleep with the help of athletes, neuroscientists, artists, and psychologists—all in one place.
Ultrahuman is already present in more than 50 countries and has partnered with some of the leading athletes and celebrities like Kara Saunders, Amanda Cerny, Johannes Bartl, Kris Gethin, Christian Straka, to name a few.
BluArmor, who is gearing up to solve one of the persisting issue two-wheeler riders in India face – excessive heat under their helmet. BluArmor has developed helmet coolers that aims to provide a comfortable riding experience for the two-wheeler riders.
Some other Indian companies participating in the event are – Monarch Innovation, a design and engineering company; Tata Elxsi, a design and technology company from the TATA Group; Cochlear a hearing aid company; Zero1, an innovative smart-device accessories brand; Pragati Foundation, a CSR arm of Pragati Leadership focused on the upliftment of the underprivileged to respectable livelihood; NeoSOFT, a global IT consulting & software solutions provider.
When the virtual show floor opens on Tuesday, attendees will be able to click into online exhibition booths for demos and chats.
Show organizers said they hope to deliver a new kind of experience which can be useful to the expected online crowd of 100,000 or more.
Sessions will be immediately available for replay on demand, and remain accessible until mid-February, according to CES organizers.
