iNDICA NEWS BUREAU-
At least six Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP, the student wing of the BJP) activists suffered injuries after allegedly being assaulted by security guards outside the administrative block of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi on Monday.
The confrontation took place reportedly over the issue of scholarship that is delayed for the past two years.
According to eyewitnesses, some students belonging to the ABVP gathered outside the administrative block to protest. Officials said they did not have permission for any kind of demonstration.
Security personnel asked them to leave the premises but the students allegedly did not heed this instruction. This led to a heated argument among them.
The students alleged that the security guards attacked them due to which they suffered severe injuries. The police said that both the security personnel as well as the students sustained injuries.
The students said that they were only demanding their stalled scholarship which was not being released.
Police said they have not received any official complaint so far.
