Proud to see US, India working together for more peaceful world: Envoy Eric Garcetti

The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, on Wednesday, said the “great minds” back in his homeland and India can find more paths to peace. “I’m so proud to see the United States of America and India working together for a more peaceful world. But we have to innovate. The world is changing more in the next five or 10 years than it’s changed in the last 100 years. But the great minds in India and the great minds in United States can work to find more paths to peace,” he said.

Highlighting the bond between New Delhi and Washington, US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti said that working as an envoy in India is a “fun job.” While addressing the event “US National Day celebrations” in Mumbai, Garcetti on Thursday said, “I am Eric Garcetti and I get to serve as President Biden’s ambassador from the United States to India. I have to say, it is the most fun job I have ever had in my entire life. I’m going to eat my way through India. I’m going to advance my way through India. But more importantly, together with you, we are going to write a new chapter on US-India relations.”

Wait time for first-time tourist visa interviews reduced, says US envoy Eric Garcetti

United States Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, on Wednesday, said that the wait time for first-time tourist visa interviews has been reduced by more than 50 per cent, adding that goal for 2023 is to process at least one million visas. Speaking at IIT Delhi, Garcetti highlighted the progress made in visa processing, stating that the US Mission in India is currently processing visas faster than ever before.
