Indian American Harbir Bhatia has big plans for Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce in 2024

Indian American civic entrepreneur Harbir Bhatia who recently took over as CEO of Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (SVCCC) has already put plans in place for infusing new vigor into the organization and revitalizing the economy by fostering entrepreneurship. In fact, it is for the first time in SVCCC’s history that both the chairperson (Elnaz Masoom) and the CEO are women.

Indian American Harbir Bhatia, who took over as CEO at the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce in June this year wanted to reach out to the community and help promote small businesses says the primary goal of hosting the “Festival of Lights” was first to celebrate a very important festival and holiday for a significant portion of the Silicon Valley. In addition, it was to foster community unity, celebrating diversity and inclusion while showcasing the strength of our local businesses and the overall local economy.

Indian American chief of Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce brings five mayors together for collective solutioning

Harbir Bhatia, the Indian American CEO and president of the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce on March 7 coordinated an event that brought together mayors from five key cities in California to forge regional conversations. The event was held at Milpitas, California. The first-of-its-kind event was attended by Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gilmore; Sunnyvale Mayor Larry Klein; Mountain View Mayor Pat Showalter; Cupertino Mayor Sheila Mohan and Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano. Also attending were representatives of Sunnyvale Chamber, Martinsville Chamber, Cupertino Chamber, and the US-China Chamber.

At Silicon Valley Chamber event, five South Bay are mayors speak on issues that need collective action

Five South Bay mayors from California extolled the virtues of their cities and how to work collaboratively at the annual Mayors’ Breakfast hosted by the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (SVCCC) on March 7. The first-of-its-kind event was attended by Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gilmore; Sunnyvale Mayor Larry Klein; Mountain View Mayor Pat Showalter; Cupertino Mayor Sheila Mohan and Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano. They participated in a discussion moderated by Russell Hancock, CEO, Joint Venture Silicon Valley (above left), on issues affecting their cities including transportation and affordable housing.
