Months before the Babri Masjid was demolished on December 6, 1992, an Indian American medical professional, Dr. Bharat Barai, who joined the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) around 1987, visited Ayodhya to satiate his curiosity about the disputed site. People in large numbers participated in the India Day Parade held in New York. A carnival float featuring Ram Temple was also part of the parade. Patriotic songs were played as the people participated in the event. People carried Indian flags and were seen playing dhols and dancing as they participated in the parade.
Religious songs were played as the float moved on the roads during the carnival. The float, made of wood, largely depicts the Ram Temple — a grand pink sandstone temple built for Lord Ram in the northern Indian city of Ayodhya. The whole structure of Ram Temple, which was made of wood, was decorated with flowers.

Braving rain and sub-55F temperatures, hundreds of Hindus and Sikhs from the San Francisco Bay Area participated in a massive 1000-car rally on Sunday to celebrate ‘Lord Ram’s Homecoming’.
