The Aam Aadmi Party has named senior leader Atishi Marlena as Arvind Kerjiwal’s replacement. Atishi will be the new chief minister of Delhi.
As per reports, the party unanimously decided on the issue after Kejriwal suggested Atishi’s name on Tuesday, September 17.
Kejriwal, who was released from jail on Friday, had announced on Sunday that he would resign from the post. The AAP supremo said he would only return after getting an honesty certificate from the public.
Kejriwal has also called for early polls.
Atishi, a senior AAP leader, is a key face within the the party as well as the government. She holds multiple portfolios, including finance, education and PWD.
