Shantanu Narayen, the Indian-origin president and CEO of Adobe, wrote a letter addressing Adobe community about the efforts taken by Adobe for its customers. In the letter he announced that students will have free, personal in-home access to Adobe Creative Cloud in place of their schools’ in-classroom licenses through May 31, 2020.
The statement further read, “The past few weeks have shown us that, even in times of uncertainty, our schools and business communities remain strong and resourceful, all while continuing to find creative ways to maintain learning and business continuity.”
“With many schools facing physical campus closures and moving to online learning due to COVID-19, we’re announcing that we’re giving greater access to Adobe Creative Cloud desktop apps to facilitate distance learning. We believe that doing so will make it possible to keep coursework, teamwork, and student progress on track through at-home access to Creative Cloud for students and educators,” he added.
In the very first paragraph of the letter, Shantanu talked about the impact of Covid on everyone’s life. “COVID-19 is changing everything about life and work as we know it. We’re all focused on how to best protect and support our families, employees, customers, and communities in the face of this unfolding crisis. On behalf of all Adobe employees, I want to let you know that our thoughts are with those who are affected,” he wrote.
Announcing about initiatives from Adobe, he said, “We recognize the critical role our technology plays in your creative pursuits and business success. I’d like to assure you that Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Document Cloud, Adobe Experience Cloud, and Adobe Managed Services remain fully operational. Our cloud solutions are monitored and operated from several locations around the world, across a multi-vendor and multi-cloud infrastructure model. This ensures our ability to continue to deliver our solutions and serve your needs.”
Apart from these, Adobe extended the grace period of Value Incentive Plan (VIP) for Creative Cloud and Document Cloud team and enterprise customers to 60 days.
“For Creative Cloud and Document Cloud Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA) customers, we will eliminate additional license charges for 60 days.” The letter said.
