The BITS Pilani Alumni Association (BITSAA) Silicon Valley Chapter (BITSAA SVC) is hosting an annual conference BITSync 23 with a theme of “Craft. Create.Celebrate” on Saturday, June 10 at JCC in Palo Alto, California.

Ankush Bagotra president BITS, Pilani Alumni Silicon Valley chapter talking about the upcoming BITSync 23 conference says this is going to be another hallmark event with a keynote by California State Senator Josh Becker, who has worked with President Obama on Cleantech. He will talk about Accelerating California’s transition to 100 percent clean energy.

“The organizing committee has worked extremely hard to curate awesome content for this event. I am looking forward to a wonderful day of engaging content, enjoyable discussions and empowering networking,” Bagotra said.

BITSAA) Silicon Valley Chapter (BITSAA SVC) was founded by Jayan Ramankutty in 2003. The galvanizing event at that time was BITSConnect – to wire the BITS Pilani campuses.

The BITSConnect project resulted in over $1m of equipment and services installed on campus and allowed the campuses to connect with the rest of the world. After BITSConnect, while the BITSA SVC got together periodically, there was no professional networking event until 2016 under the leadership of Preethy Padmanabhan – when the first BITSync Technology and Leadership conference was held at JCC, Palo Alto on Sept. 17, 2016.

A recap of this event can be read here. The tradition continued in 2017 at the Hayes Mansion with a keynote by John Chambers. 2018 saw Mansoor Khan assume the role of Chapter President.

The conference at San Jose State University had a keynote by Sanjay Mehrotra. The last BITSync conference in 2019 (before the pandemic hit) was at the Computer History Museum with keynotes by Sabeer Bhatia and Revathi Advaithi.

With over 6,000 BITS, Pilani Alumni in Silicon Valley, BITSAA SVC is one of the most vibrant alumni chapters. The alumni include VCs, CXOs, top executives along with recent graduates and interns working for all the top Silicon Valley companies.
