BJP’s overseas wing organizes car rally to support PM Modi’s bid for third term

The Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) San Francisco Chapter organized a car rally on March 31, championing the cause “Abki Baar 400 Paar” (“This Time, We’ll Cross 400) for India’s upcoming Lok Sabha election. The ‘400’ reference is to Modi’s party BJP trying to win more than 400 seats in India’s 543-seat lower house of Parliament. OFBJP was formed in the early 1990s to support the party’s ideology and its propagation around the world, especially in the US, the UK and Canada.

Called the ‘Caravan of Solidarity’, the car rally began from Fremont Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station and made its way to the Milpitas City Hall, Milpitas, covering significant ground in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area.

According to the organizers, the rally saw around 100 cars and hundreds of participants from various parts of the Bay Area, “signaling a strong wave of support for the Modi government and its bid for re-election in 2024.”

The participants came with banners, flags, and slogans, which, they said, emphasized the “deep-rooted enthusiasm and commitment of the Indian diaspora towards India’s progress and leadership on the global stage.”

Attendees voiced their appreciation for the numerous accomplishments of the Modi government, particularly its contributions towards India’s development and its role in promoting world peace.
