Congressman Thanedar reintroduces bipartisan resolution condemning Hinduphobia

iNDICA NEWS BUREAU-

In a renewed effort to combat discrimination, Congressman Shri Thanedar has reintroduced a bipartisan resolution condemning Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bigotry in the United States.

The resolution aims to recognize the significant contributions of Hindu Americans while raising awareness about the discrimination the community faces.

“Hate in any form threatens the very fabric of our society,” Thanedar said. “By condemning Hinduphobia, this resolution sends a strong message: we will not tolerate bigotry and will continue to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our communities.”

The resolution also draws attention to the rise in anti-Hindu violence across the nation, citing incidents from New York to California. It reaffirms that the U.S. is a nation that values the diversity Hindu Americans bring, acknowledging their cultural, historical, and social contributions.

“With the continued bipartisan support of my colleagues, I hope to bring awareness to this developing issue,” Thanedar said. “America is a nation built on diversity of thoughts and culture, and we should never allow the proliferation of hate to damage the things that make this country great.”

Thanedar first introduced the resolution on April 10, 2024. Since then, it has garnered the support of 23 cosponsors, including Representatives Raja Krishnamoorthi, Ro Khanna, Ami Bera, and Pramila Jayapal. The resolution is also supported by various organizations, including the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies.
