“Donald Trump has my strong endorsement”: Nikki Haley at Republican National Convention

iNDICA NEWS BUREAU-

Nikki Haley has formally endorsed Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign Tuesday night. The support from the former South Carolina Governor came during her speech at the Republican National Convention. This further cements the fact that the Indian American politician has let go of her bitter rivalry with Trump and is following the latter’s call of unity.

“I’ll start by making one thing perfectly clear: Donald Trump has my strong endorsement, period,” Haley said Tuesday, July 16, as quoted by CNN.

Haley also defended Trump’s foreign policy record during her speech. “There are some Americans who don’t agree with Donald Trump 100% of the time,” she said. “My message to them is simple: You don’t have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him.”

Trump watched the 52-year-old’s speech from the convention center’s VIP suite. Meanwhile, Haley’s speech at the RNC was in stark contrast to the jabs she threw at the Republican Presidential nominee during their yearlong campaign.

At one point, Haley had also urged GOP voters to support her and avoid the “chaos” that she said follows Trump.

However, putting an end to their enmity, Haley released her delegates last week and urged them to support the former president. Haley, incidentally, was invited to appear onstage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, only a few days ago.

After surviving the assassination attempt, the former president has called for unity. It was a key theme Tuesday. Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who spoke after Haley, urged Republicans to help elect Trump as the President.

“Donald Trump, he’s been demonized. He’s been sued. He’s been prosecuted. And he nearly lost his life,” DeSantis said. “We cannot let him down, and we cannot let America down.”
