Has Imran Khan Gone Nuts ?

Justice Markandey Katju-

Addressing the Pakistani Parliament on Tuesday the Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, said: ” There is no doubt India is behind the Karachi Stock Exchange attack “.

Hyperbole and telling lies are not uncommon among politicians, but this statement really takes the cake.

Where is the evidence to support this assertion? Or will it be manufactured now?

Imran Khan also said his cabinet knew about this attack two months in advance. But neither he nor his cabinet colleagues ( like his redoubtable Sancho Panza, Fawad Chaudhry ) ever mentioned it earlier.

The Majeed Brigade of the Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the attack, in which grenades and rifles were used, leaving several dead. Some Pakistanis ( e.g. Amjad Shoaib, a Pakistani defense analyst and retired General) were quick to assert that India is providing arms, training and funds to the BLA. But where is the evidence?

There is no contiguous border between India and Balochistan. The Indian border is with Sind and Punjab ( and part of Kashmir ) and this border is closely guarded. How then can Indian weapons reach Balochistan? And where is the proof of India providing training or funds to the BLA?

The truth is as mentioned in my article ‘Baloch attack in Karachi shows why Pakistan is a fake nation’ published in theweek.in.

Due to utter mismanagement by the Pakistan government, the Pakistan economy is in doldrums, and the people are in deep distress, with widespread grinding poverty, mounting unemployment, appalling level of child malnourishment, almost total lack of healthcare and good education for the masses etc.

Hence diversionary measures have to be adopted to deflect public attention from all this, and the best way for Pakistani authorities to do so is to blame India for all the ills in Pakistan.

In Aesop’s Fables, there is a story of a boy who falsely cried wolf to amuse himself and trick the villagers into thinking that their flock of sheep was about to be attacked by a wolf. Later when a real wolf appeared and attacked the sheep the boy again cried wolf, but this time the villagers disbelieved him, and the wolf killed all the sheep.

Imran Khan would be well advised to read this story and stop making a fool of himself in the public gaze.
