With the Covid-19 numbers under a grip, the Indian government has resumed issuing fresh e-tourist visas for foreign nationals traveling in groups from October 15.
All foreign nationals intending to visit India for tourism will be allowed to enter India on an e-tourist Visa through chartered flights (for group tourism only) with effect from 15 October, read an official statement.
However, foreign nationals intending to visit India for individual tourism purposes will have to wait till November 15.
Foreign nationals traveling individually will be allowed into the country only through Vande Bharat Mission, Air Bubble Scheme or by any scheduled/non-scheduled commercial flight allowed by the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation.
A single entry e-tourist visa will be valid for a stay up to 30 days.
Existing valid e-tourist visas issued before October 6, 2021, will remain suspended and travel on such visas will not be permitted.
