Indian American Dr Vijay G Prabhakar, President, American Multi Ethnic Commission & Chairman, Global Eye Magazine accompanied by his wife Mrs Cynthia Prabhakar were special guests of President Joe Biden and Dr Jill Biden at the White House Congressional Picnic on Tuesday, June 4 at the lawns of the White House.
President Biden congratulated Dr Prabhakar on the grand success of the 13th Annual AMEC Congressional Global Awards Gala held on June 1 at Naperville, IL.
Several U. S. Senators, U. S. Representatives and their immediate families attended the White House Congressional picnic including Senator Dick Durbin, Congressmen Frank Pallone, Alma Adams, Rosa De Lauro, Jonathan Jackson, Frank J. Mrvan, Ro Khanna, Shri Thanedar, Delia Ramirez, Bill Foster, Robin Kelly, and Ilhan Omar among others.
Dr Vijay G. Prabhakar and his wife Cynthia Prabhakar were the only Indian American leaders at the event.
Dr Jill Biden introduced the President and he addressed the select gathering of U. S. Members of Congress, their immediate families and special guests with their families. It was a very well attended event with the U. S. President’s Marine Band and the U. S. Naval Band in attendance.
