Indian-American mom allegedly slits her son’s throat in Texas, tries to kill herself after

indica News Bureau-

Texas police booked an Indian-American woman, mother of a 4-year-old boy, on charges of murder of her son.

She was reportedly wandering around the house, located at Sugar Land with injuries on her wrists and neck; when her husband came home and found blood throughout the home. He also found his son lying in ground with his throat slit.

Sugar Land spokesman Doug Adolph said in a statement, the police and fire-EMS responded to 5200 block of Weatherstone Circle in Gardens of Avalon at 10:40 a.m on Monday, March 21. A man arrived home and saw blood throughout his house and his 36-year-old wife Ritika Rohatgi Agrawal wandering around with cut wounds to her neck and wrists that appeared to be self-inflicted.

Their son was found dead upstairs with his throat slit. Ritika Rohatgi Agrawal is charged with murder. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment and was later taken into custody after she was discharged from the hospital, the police said.

Ritika Rohatgi Agrawal was later transported to the Fort Bend County jail when released from the hospital.

Police suspect that she may have tried to kill herself. A Fort Bend County magistrate on Tuesday set the bond for Ritika at $950,000.

However, authorities suspect, Ritika may be suffering from mental illness. The case is under investigation.
