A 22-year-old former preschool teacher of Indian origin has been released on bond after spending nearly six months in jail.

Tulsi Patel, who is accused of physically and sexually assaulting at least 12 children, was freed from Fulton County Jail in Georgia on January 28.

She posted a $75,000 bond, along with $3,000 in pretrial conditions, according to WXIA-TV.

Patel’s alleged assaults occurred at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy in Alpharetta, Georgia, over a two-week period in July of last year.

The incidents were reportedly witnessed by other children, with some of the assaults captured on CCTV footage. Following the allegations, Patel was arrested, and lawsuits filed in October revealed that classmates of the victims were forced to watch the assaults.

Patel faces a total of 15 charges, including three counts of aggravated child molestation, five counts of child molestation, one count of cruelty to children in the first degree, and nine counts of simple battery. Her bond was set during a hearing on January 17 in Fulton County Superior Court. Although she has been granted bond, details of any restrictions imposed on her remain unclear.

Before her arrest, Patel worked at Cornerstone Preschool in Alpharetta. The school’s director, Angela Martin, was arrested in August for allegedly failing to report a previous abuse claim involving Patel. Martin has denied the allegations.

Authorities have completed their investigation into Patel, but the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office may still pursue additional actions. Patel’s next court appearance has yet to be scheduled. Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact Alpharetta Police at 678-297-6300, and concerned parents can reach out to the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services at 1-855-GA-CHILD.
