An Indian-origin man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl in California. The suspect Sandeep Sandeep was arrested on charges of assault with intent to commit a sex crime, sexual battery, and false imprisonment. He was presented in court on Oct 25, and the case hearing was continued to Oct 27 for a Hindi interpreter to be present, Cynthia Sumida, spokesperson, Santa Clara County Office of the District Attorney told indica.
According to a San Jose Police Department press release, the incident occurred on October 21, when they received a report of a sexual assault that occurred at a motel in the 1000 Block of The Alameda.
The SJPD Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) Detectives were notified and immediately began investigating the sexual assault.
During the investigation, Sandeep Sandeep was identified as the primary suspect. The investigation revealed that while working as a food delivery driver, the suspect forced his way into the motel room during a delivery, and sexually assaulted the female juvenile.
SJPD SAIU Detectives and patrol officers located and arrested the suspect later that evening in the city of Campbell. He has been booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
