Many Indians celebrated Pakistan’s defeat by England in the T20 World Cup cricket final on November 13, 2022, as if India had won the Cup.

These fools did not understand that India and Pakistan (and Bangladesh) are, in fact, one country, only temporarily divided by the British (the way they divided Ireland, Cyprus, Palestine, etc) by that historical swindle called Partition in 1947, on the basis of the bogus two-nation theory, the whole object being to prevent India from emerging as a modern industrial giant (for which it has all the
potential), like another China.

We share the same culture, we look like each other, many of us speak the same language, Hindustani (called Hindi by Indians and Urdu by Pakistanis), and we were one since Mughal times. Indians and Pakistanis socialize abroad as if Partition never occurred.

We are bound to reunite one day under a secular government, though that will take time. West and East Germany were reunited in 1990 after a partition of 45 years, and North and South Vietnam were reunited in 1975 after a partition of 30 years. So, time is immaterial.

Therefore, a defeat of Pakistan is in fact our defeat, and their victory is our victory. When an Indian soldier kills a Pakistani soldier he is behaving like a fool, because he is killing his own countryman. Similarly, when a Pakistani soldier kills an Indian soldier he is behaving like a fool because he is killing his own countryman.

Hindus and Muslims were befooled by the British into thinking we are each other’s enemies, but how much longer must we remain blind? How much longer must blood be shed between us? How much longer must we waste our precious resources in hostility with each other, instead of pooling them together and make India a modern industrial giant, like China? Is 75 years not enough?

There is a law in Pakistan, Section 123A of the Pakistan Penal Code, which prescribes a sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment for anyone who speaks against Partition and creation of Pakistan as a separate Islamic state. But how long can a law suppress the truth?

The Bible was a law in Europe in the Middle Ages, and the Bible said that the sun revolves around the earth (the geocentric theory). Speaking against the Bible could entail being burnt at the stake, but could this suppress Copernicus’ heliocentric theory that the earth revolves around the sun, which is universally accepted today?

It is high time that Indians and Pakistanis (and Bangladeshis) realise that we are really one nation, only temporarily separated, and reunite under a secular government led by patriotic, modern-minded leaders determined to abolish poverty, unemployment, malnutrition and other social evils by rapidly modernizing and industrializing the country, and raise the standard of living of our people and give them decent lives.
