Mayank Chhaya-
The reported killings and torture of civilians in Bucha on the outskirts of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv today by retreating Russian troops have cast a deep shadow over the prospects of a negotiated settlement of the war. The atrocities came in the aftermath of Ukraine’s top negotiator David Arakhamia saying that Russia has verbally agreed to your country’s key proposals. One of the key demands of Moscow has been that Ukraine remain a neutral state without any strategic entanglement or membership of the NATO. However, suddenly any prospects of a likely meeting between Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in Turkey have now been thrown into serious jeopardy. Inna Sovatsun, an outspoken member of Ukraine’s parliament and former First Deputy Minister of Education and Science (2014-2016), does not believe there is any solution to the crisis other than militarily removing the Russians from all Ukrainian territories. In an interview with Mayank Chhaya Reports she addressed wide ranging issues, including why Russia seems to harbor pathological hatred for Ukraine and Ukrainians. She also spoke about what her expectations from India are.
