New York Mayor Eric Adams faces bribery charges over 2016 India trip
Eric Adams, the Mayor of the largest U.S. city, has been charged with bribery and campaign financing irregularities by Federal prosecutors, and one of the allegations relates to a trip he took to India.
The charges released Thursday, September 26, said that after he purchased economy class tickets for himself and his domestic partner to India in 2016 on Turkish Airlines, he accepted upgrades to business class, which prosecutors assert was valued at nearly $13,000 that he did not disclose receiving it in his official filings. The prosecutors put the amounts he illegally benefitted from at $100,000.
Indian, American air forces complete 2-day Executive Steering Group meeting for enhance cooperation
The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the U.S. Air Force (USAF) on Thursday completed the two-day Executive Steering Group Meeting (ESG). In a post on X, the IAF announced the successful conclusion of the meeting.
“Towards enhancing cooperation with the USA, the IAF successfully conducted the 25th edition of Indian Air Force-United States Air Force from September 24 to Sep 26. The visit by the USAF delegation led by Deputy Commander, Pacific Air Forces and the subsequent talks highlighted the close ties between the two countries and close cooperation between the two services,” the IAF said in its post on X.

Indian pharma sector expected to achieve 8-10% revenue growth in FY 2024-25: Report
After achieving about 10% growth last year, the Indian pharmaceuticals sector is again set to log a revenue growth of 8-10% this fiscal, according to a report on Wednesday.
The report by rating agency CRISIL suggested that the growth is supported by healthy exports to regulated markets, recovery in exports to semi-regulated markets, and steady domestic demand.

India orders 240 AL-31FP Aero Engines worth US$3.1 billion for Su-30MKI fighters from HAL
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) of the Indian government has ordered 240 AL-31FP Aero Engines for Su-30MKI aircraft. The ministry has awarded a contract worth US$3.1 billion (Rs 26,000 crore) to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
The contract that is meant to boost the Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign of the government was inked by the senior officials of MoD and HAL in the presence of Defense Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane, Secretary (Defense Production) Sanjeev Kumar and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari in New Delhi on September 9, 2024.
