INDIA bloc kicks off campaign for Lok Sabha polls at Mumbai rally with call to defeat BJP, ‘save Constitution’

The INDIA bloc on Sunday launched its campaign for the Lok Sabha elections at a mega rally in the country’s financial hub Mumbai, unanimously calling upon the people to defeat the BJP to save democracy and the Constitution. At the rally at the iconic Shivaji Park in central Mumbai, organized on the conclusion of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, leaders of several INDIA bloc parties recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s Quit India movement in 1942, saying that the time has come to work together to relieve the country from the BJP.

UCLA’s Fowler Museum’s Sikh art showcase features contemporary geniuses

The Fowler Museum at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has been running an exhibition titled ‘I Will Meet You Yet Again’ that showcases contemporary Sikh Art form. The exhibition was inaugurated January 28 will run until May 26, 2024, and has displayed more than 40 contemporary paintings, textiles, soundscapes, poetry, and digital media that highlight the Sikh understanding of “home.”

Martin Luther King Jr. was only 19 when Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi was assassinated in 1948. He would later visit India in 1959 and be forever transformed to bend the arc of history with the ensuing Civil Rights movement in the United States. Inspired by Gandhi’s satyagraha- ‘truth force’ doctrine, he preached non-violent resistance that eventually changed laws aimed at ending racial discrimination and restoring human rights. In 1964 at the age of 34, Martin Luther King became the youngest man to ever be conferred the Nobel Peace Prize.
