After Nijjar’s killing, FBI warned Sikh leaders in US about death threats

After Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurdwara in Canada’s British Columbia, US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents visited several Sikh leaders and warned them that their lives were also at risk, as per a report in The Intercept. Pritpal Singh, a political activist who is a coordinator for the American Sikh Caucus Committee, told The Intercept that he and two other Sikh Americans in California received calls and visits from the FBI after Nijjar was killed.

Analysis: How the US and Canada collaborated on intel over Nijjar kiilling

The US was the Five Eyes member country that provided some kind of corroborating intelligence that Canada used to firm up its assessment that Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen and Khalistan activist, was killed in a plot by the Indian government, according to a report in The New York Times. The report, which is based on accounts from two allied officials, says the US, which is a member of the Five Eyes intelligence sharing compact with Canada, the UK, New Zealand and Australia, had no advance knowledge of the plot but provided Canada the “context”.

Justin Trudeau has gone for broke in alleging India’s role in a Sikh Separatist’s murder

Blame Canada

Father’s Day this year could have ended differently for Balraj Singh Nijjar, of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

Around 8:30 PM that day, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45, father of Balraj and a younger brother, walked out of Surrey’s Guru Nanak Gurdwara into the parking lot. Two heavier-set masked men laid in wait for at least an hour and shot Mr. Nijjar through the window of his truck multiple times; assassins escaped in a getaway car driven by a third accomplice. Mr. Nijjar, a Canadian citizen since 2007 after entering the country in 1997, was the President of this Gurdwara and a prominent member. Three months on, no arrests have been made, nor any suspect named.

Intelligence on Nijjar’s killing provided by Five Eyes ally: Report

Intelligence provided by an ally from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance and communication intercepts between Indian officials that led Ottawa to hold New Delhi responsible for Khalistan leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing, the CBC News reported. Citing government sources, the news outlet said Canada amassed intelligence involving communications between Indian officials, diplomats and information “provided by an unnamed ally in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance”, during a month-long probe on Nijjar’s killing.

Khalistani leader Pannun threatens Indo-Canadian Hindus, asks them to leave

Stating that pro-Khalistan Sikhs have always been loyal to Canada, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of radical Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), threatened Indo-Canadian Hindus and asked them to leave the country in a video which went viral on Wednesday. The emboldened dare from Pannun, legal counsel of SFJ, which is a banned terror outfit in India, comes after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused New Delhi of involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, resulting in tit-for-tat expulsions of senior diplomats.
