I spoke today ( on Skype and telephone ); to several NRIs living in the USA, and they informed me that whereas before the ongoing farmers’ agitation began in India about 6 months back almost all NRIs in America ( most of whom are Hindus ) were solid and blind supporters of Modi and the BJP, but now that support has considerably dwindled.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday said that there was a reason why MEA reacted to the remarks of some celebrities in relation to protest by farmer unions and noted that they spoke “on matters on which they obviously didn’t know very much”.
It is reported that Internet and telephone services at Ghazipur, Tikri, and Singhu borders of Delhi have been shut down by the authorities. The authorities perhaps believe that by doing this they will suppress the farmers’ agitation, but in my opinion, it will only exacerbate the situation.
The farmers have been portrayed as an unruly mob of hooligans and crazy anarchists, who will create chaos in society unless disciplined and put down by the use of force.
Scores of protesters, mainly Sikhs, gathered at the Indian consulate in San Francisco on January 26 in solidarity with the ongoing farmers’ protests in India.
Today, the 750 million Indian farmers, are that mighty force, who have risen, and displayed their gigantic form, like Lord Krishna displaying it to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
