Vivek Lall, an Indian-origin General Atomics Global Corporation chief executive, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by US President Joe Biden with a citation that read ‘With Grateful Recognition’.
The citation was given to Lall, a PhD in aerospace engineering from Wichita State University in Kansas, by AmeriCorps and the White House. The citation was signed by the President. AmeriCorps is a US government entity that fosters activities to bring Americans together to “serve communities.”
Dr Lall’s firm General Atomics is a global leader in nuclear technology and has developed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) such as Predator, Reaper and Guardian drones.
Before joining General Atomics as CEO, Dr Lall worked at NASA, Raytheon, Boeing and Lockheed Martin where he received accolades for his groundbreaking work in aviation technology.
He currently serves as a US Technical Team Member to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Science and Technology (STO) with the Pentagon. He was earliert appointed in a critical advisory role to the US Department of Transportation, encompassing entities like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in 2018.
