South Asian community members gathered recently for a Navratri Garba and Dandia event, which turned into a powerful political rally in support of Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Amidst the festivities, more than 200 members of the community showcased their cultural pride and political acumen as the participants threw their weight behind Harris’s bid for the White House.
Ajay Bhutoria, author, entrepreneur, and a prominent community leader, said: “It was inspiring to see so many people come together, proudly showing their support for Kamala Harris for President. With less than 30 days until the election, it’s crucial we all take action. Each of us must ‘Do Something’ to help elect Kamala Harris as our next President!”
The South Asian community may play a pivotal role in the margin of victory in this election, and its support for Harris is quite evident. “This is the most important election of our lifetime! Let’s ensure our voices are heard. We encourage everyone to help register voters, reach out to friends and family in battleground states, and consider volunteering for phone banking or voter turnout efforts for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz,” Bhutoria emphasized. “I will be knocking on doors in Philadelphia this weekend. Join me to make a difference!”
As the countdown to Election Day continues, the South Asian community is mobilizing forces, determined to make their voices count. “I will vote for Kamala; will you too vote for Kamala Harris?” Bhutoria asked the attendees, reinforcing the need for collective action. Working together, this community can make a significant impact in the upcoming election in the battleground states.
