Indian-American-led and San Francisco-headquartered software startup Postman has raised its valuation to $2 billion after it reported Thursday that it had raised $150 million in its Series C funding round led by US-based investor Insight Partners.

With this, the firm has gained unicorn status – privately held startup valued at over $1 billion.

Postman, a platform for developing Application Programming Interface (API), building blocks of all kinds of software, was valued at $350 million just a year earlier.

India- and US-based Nexus Venture Partners, and US-based Charles River Ventures are among Postman’s early investors.

Abhinav Asthana, co-founder and CEO of Postman, said in a statement: “Developers all over the world are rapidly transitioning from the code-first mindset to an API-first mindset with Postman being the centre of this revolution.

Postman, which has a wide range of applications in product management, app building, automated testing and developer onboarding, has among its clients cloud learning firm Coursera, Microsoft, and Indian travel portal Goibibo.
