Amidst victory chants and in the presence of over 10,000 guests at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister of India for his third successive term on Sunday, June 9.

Attended by leaders from across India and abroad, seventy-three-year-old Modi has retained key ministers – Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, and Piyush Goyal.

‘End To Tareekh Pe Tareekh Era’: Amit Shah on Criminal law Bills passed in Rajya Sabha

Union Home Minister Amit Shah while discussing the new Criminal law Bills in the Rajya Sabha said that the implementation of these three new Criminal laws will ensure an end to the “Tareekh Pe Tareekh Era” and justice will be delivered in three years. The Rajya Sabha has passed three crucial Bills — Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, and Bharatiya Saksha (Second) Bill — that will replace a raft of British-era laws after a day-long discussion in the Upper House.

Justice Katju says, “One can understand distortion of the truth by 10, 20, or 30 degrees in furtherance of one’s vested interests, but distorting it by 180 degrees, i.e, making it totally upside down by painting a secular hero as a communal bigot and a villain, really boggles one’s mind.
