Justice Markandey Katju writes: The Punjab Government in Pakistan has banned meetings with former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Adiala jail by his lawyers and close relatives for 2 weeks (a period which may well be extended later). This was done despite an order of the Islamabad High Court permitting such meetings with persons approved by Imran Khan.
Meta-owned WhatsApp banned a record over 7.1 million bad accounts in India in the month of November 2023, in compliance with the new IT Rules 2021, the company said on Monday. Between November 1-30, the company banned 7.196 million accounts. Around 1.954 million of these accounts were proactively banned, before any reports from users, WhatsApp said in its monthly compliance report.
The Indian capital’s Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Sunday decided to invoke Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in the entire Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) with immediate effect, banning entry of trucks and switching over to work from home, to prevent further deterioration of air quality in Delhi and the surrounding areas.
