Justice Markandey Katju writes: The eminent Pakistani journalist Moeed Pirzada, who has been living in the US for some time, spoke recently in Alabama about the ‘Garrison State’ (a euphemism for army rule) in Pakistan. In his speech, Moeed mentions that the Garrison State in Pakistan produces, and compels linear thinking. In other words, anyone who criticises, assesses, evaluates, or suggests reforms, is branded as an enemy of Pakistan and of Islam, and is harshly dealt with.
