The real problems facing India is its massive poverty and unemployment, appalling level of child malnourishment (every second child in India is malnourished, according to the Global Hunger Index), skyrocketing prices of essential commodities like food, fuel and medicines, almost total lack of proper healthcare and good education for the masses.
The 2023 Global Hunger Index has ranked India 111th out of the 125 countries. India slipped four places since last year. The government, on its part, has rejected the report calling it “flawed” and “erroneous”.
