US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have spoken with the family of a Palestinian-American boy killed in a hate crime outside of Chicago this week, according to a statement released by the White House. The Bidens offered their condolences to the family of Wadea Alfayoumi and prayed for the full recovery of Wadea’s mother. President Biden spoke to Alfayoumi’s family right after delivering an address to the nation on Thursday.

US First Lady Jill Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, her communications director Elizabeth Alexander said in a statement. However, she is experiencing only mild symptoms as of now and will remain at the couple’s home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for the time being. “This evening, the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19. She is currently experiencing only mild symptoms. She will remain at their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware,” Elizabeth Alexander said.
