Foreign Tourist Arrivals in India increased to 6.19 million, earnings to Rs 134,543 crore in 2022

The tourism industry of India is showing signs of revival after the pandemic. According to the latest data released by the Bureau of Immigration, India received 6.19 million Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) during 2022 as compared to 1.52 million during the same period in 2021. Though the increase may seem appreciable, the foreign tourist inflow is still not up to the pre-pandemic levels – there were 10.93 million Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) in India in 2019.

White House releases strategy to uplift Asians, including Indians and other communities

The White House has released its first-ever national strategy to advance equity, justice, and opportunity for Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities. Senior Biden-Harris administration officials outlined the details of an action plan made by 32 federal agencies to promote safety and equity for Asian Americans, including Indians, and NHPIs at a virtual event on Tuesday, the White House said.
