Nepal Supreme Courrt orders release of ‘Bikini Killer’ Charles Sobhraj after 19 years in jail

The Supreme Court of Nepal on Wednesday ordered the release of serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who is also known as the ‘bikini killer’ or ‘serpent killer’. Hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Sobhraj, a joint bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Til Prasad Shrestha ordered his release if he need not be jailed for another case, adding that arrangements be made to return the French citizen back to his country within 15 days.

South Asian Literature and Art Festival 2022

The South Asian Literature and Art Festival (SALA) returned in style and with considerable substance on October 29 and 30, 2022 at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA, after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme of the festival was “Humanity.” As it explored the ways in which the world puts people in boxes, for example by caste, the festival aimed to highlight our shared humanity.

Parul Agrawal promoted to Head of Drama at Warner Bros. Television

Parul Agarwal has been promoted by Warner Bros. Television to head its drama development division. She used to work as vice president of drama development prior to this assignment. Warner Bros. Television announced on October 12 that Agrawal has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Head of Drama Development. The announcement was made by Clancy Collins White, Executive Vice President and Head of Development, WBTV.
