Largest Hindu Temple outside India opens its doors for public in New Jersey

The largest Hindu temple in the US opened its doors on Sunday in New Jersey. The temple in Robbinsville city is said to be the largest Hindu temple outside India in the modern era. Thousands of miles away from India stands this majestic Mahamandir (grand temple) that is dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, a Hindu spiritual leader of the 19th century and was inspired by his 5th spiritual successor Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Indian-origin family of 4 found dead in New Jersey in suspected murder-suicide

An Indian-origin family of four has been found dead in New Jersey in what officials suspect to be a case of murder-suicide, police said. 
Police in Plainsboro who went to their home on Wednesday evening responding to a request to check on their welfare found them dead, County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. She identified the dead as Tej Pratap Singh, 43, Sonal Parihar, 42, their 10-year-old son and six-year-old daughter.

Two Indians get 41 months in jail for defrauding elderly victims

Two Indian nationals were each sentenced to 41 months in prison for their roles in a conspiracy to commit wire fraud by accepting illegally obtained $1.2 million in wire transfers from victims across the US. Arushobike Mitra, 29, and Garbita Mitra, 25, had pleaded guilty before US District Judge Esther Salas in New Jersey to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, US Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.
