India develops next-gen meteorological satellite INSAT-3DS, set to launch on Feb 17

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will put into orbit its next-generation meteorological satellite INSAT-3DS on February 17 at 5.30 p.m. with the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) rocket, the space agency said on Thursday. The GSLV rocket, now in its 16th mission, will put INSAT-3DS into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit. Subsequent orbit-raising maneuvers will ensure that the satellite is positioned in a Geo-Stationary Orbit.
