Silicon Valley (and the world of entrepreneurship) woke on Sunday, September 1, to the shocking news that Preetish Nijhawan, a beloved entrepreneur, investor and visionary leader was no more. He passed away on the evening of August 31. Known for his innovative spirit and dedication to technology, Preetish leaves an indelible mark on the technology industry. He was admired not only for his business acumen, but also for his generosity (particularly with his time) and his commitment to mentoring young entrepreneurs. Preetish was like a tree that has more fruit – it bends more.

Eminent citizens, speakers, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists converged in California recently to discuss Jammu and Kashmir and the way ahead after the abrogation of Article 370 by the Narendra Modi government on August 21, 2019. The first-of-its-kind Kashmir Conclave was held May 13, at India Community Center in Milpitas, California. The Kashmir Conclave team, hosted by a group of individuals mainly Kashmir natives played a crucial role in organizing the event, including accomplished entrepreneurs, lawyers and doctors. The team members include Jeevan Zutshi, Zara Hashim, Irfan Ali, and Tasawar Jalali.

How AIM for SEVA is changing lives, one student at a time

AIM for SEVA, a non-profit founded by Swami Dayananda Saraswati is a global charity. In the Bay area, the initiative is led by his disciple Vijay Kapoor with the help of a dedicated team of volunteers. The organization enables students in rural and tribal parts of India to access quality, holistic education through its chatralayas [hostels] and schools. It started with a modest number of 40 students and is currently educating 9000 students, of whom 4000 stay in the chatralayas full-time.

Yellen offers (some) clarity on SVB
