Young Indian Americans, who are among the more than 3.5 million South Asians living in the US, regularly face racial and ethnic discrimination as early as preschool, which influences the development of their identities, says a new study. Second-generation Indian-American adolescents are “especially vulnerable to discrimination as they explore and form their identities”, according to the study by Texas A&M University School of Public Health.

Indian American couple from Texas to pay over $400,000 to resolve kickback allegations

An Indian American couple has agreed to pay $422,789 to resolve allegations that they received illegal kickbacks in return for referring patients for laboratory testing. Dr Vijesh Patel and his office manager and wife Laju Patel of Texas, received kickbacks in violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute in return for the doctor’s referrals to three laboratories in New Jersey, Texas and South Carolina.
