The spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, Adrienne Watson, on Wednesday rejected reports of the US rebuffing Canada after the latter accused the Indian government of behind the assassination of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Watson said they are “coordinating and consulting” with Canada and also “engaging” with the Indian government.

Indian American Aaron ‘Ronnie’ Chatterji has stepped down as a White House coordinator at the National Economic Council (NEC), and will return to his post as a business professor at Duke University. Chatterji was appointed by President Joe Biden’s administration in September 2022 for the implementation of the CHIPS and Science Act’s historic $50 billion investment in the semiconductor industry at NEC.
