Mary C. Daly, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, will speak on monetary policy and the economy at an upcoming event organized by the San Francisco Press Club and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. The event, scheduled for June 24 at The Commonwealth Club World Affairs of California, will feature a Q&A session moderated by CNBC “TechCheck” anchor Deirdre Bosa.
Curtis Sparrer, President of the San Francisco Press Club and Principal of Bospar PR, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “Mary C. Daly and Deirdre Bosa are going to talk about the most important issues in the economy today, including the impact of inflation and outlook for the job market.” Sparrer added that local journalists will have the opportunity to ask pressing questions from their newsrooms.
Daly, who has led the San Francisco Fed since 2018, is known for her extensive research on labor economics and policy. As a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee in 2024, her insights on monetary policy are particularly timely.
Moderator Deirdre Bosa brings her expertise as anchor of CNBC’s tech-focused franchise “TechCheck”, based in San Francisco. Her background includes covering major tech companies and disruptors in Silicon Valley and China.
The event will take place at 110 Embarcadero, with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 11:00 a.m. Journalists can attend for free by registering through the San Francisco Press Club website, while tickets for the general public are available for purchase through The Commonwealth Club.
This gathering offers a unique opportunity for attendees to gain insights into the current state of the economy and monetary policy from one of the Federal Reserve’s key decision-makers. As the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco serves the Twelfth Federal Reserve District, covering nine western states and several Pacific territories, Daly’s perspective is particularly relevant to the region’s economy.
