Vivek Ranadive’s daughter Anjali takes up a basketball role at the Kings

iNDICA News Bureau-

Sacramento Kings, an NBA team co-owned by tech entrepreneur Vivek Ranadive, has named his daughter Anjali assistant general manager of the team’s G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings.

Anjali will work under Stockton Kings General Manager Paul Johnson, who signed on as the Kings’ vice-president of player personnel in 2020.

Johnson was previously assistant general manager of OKC Blue, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s G League affiliate.

This will be Anjali’s first role in a basketball department. Previously she served as the Kings’ social responsibility coordinator.

Anjali is also a Billboard-charting singer and songwriter, as fans who have attended Kings home games over the years know. In 2014, she released her first single ‘Nani’.

Anjali is also a philanthropist and activist who launched Jaws and Paws, a marine and wildlife conservation nonprofit. She has a degree in marine science from the University of California, Berkeley.

The Sacramento Kings, a formidable team at the turn of the century, have had little success since 2006 and the appointment of the owner’s daughter is only likely to increase the frustration of fans and attract charges of nepotism.
